The following terms and conditions set out the basis upon which training is provided by Drive2Pass School of Motoring. (Drive2Pass SOM) The approval of these terms and conditions is a prerequisite for the arrangement of training.
1. Driving licenses and fitness to drive:
You have to hold an existing, valid driving license, provisional, full or worldwide, and produce it on (or in advance of) your first training session. You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements.
2. Bookings and Lesson period.
Your teacher will venture to preserve regular lesson slots at the exact same time each week to make sure continuity of learning, nevertheless, this can not be assured.
The minimum lesson period is one hour. If, for any reason, the Drive2Pass SOM tutor is late for the lesson he/she will make best endeavours to inform the pupil of the approximated time of arrival. If the delay is greater than 15 minutes this time will be credited to the student and when possible the lesson will be extended by the time due - if this is not possible the additional time will be carried forward to the next appropriate lesson.
3. Training Location
All sessions will begin and complete at the same place unless alternative arrangements are made beforehand. The trainer will identify a place for practical lessons which ensures both the pupil's and public safety - this may require that the teacher may drive the pupil to and from the lesson area; this extra time is part of the lesson, included in the stated price.
4. Codes of conduct.
Your teacher accepts to abide by the conditions of the Professional Code of Conduct (a copy of which will be offered on request). In the unlikely event of a problem or dispute, the standards of the Code of Conduct will be conformed too.
5. Training vehicles
Our training cars offered by Drive2Pass SOM are insured and taxed for the purposes of driving tuition, completely roadworthy and fitted with dual controls.
Pupils who wish tuition in their own car must provide evidence from their motor insurance provider that the vehicle is covered for lessons when being managed by a professional teacher in return for payment; the vehicle has to taxed and hold a current MOT certificate where applicable.
6. Cancellation & Payments
Tuition charges are generally payable beforehand. Payment can be made by cheque, cash or bank transfer. Any cheques offered for payment that are consequently declined by the bank will be subject to a charge of £15.00.
If either you or your instructor needs to re-arrange a lesson or cancel, at least 48 hours notice will be required for single lessons of up to two hours. Failure to give notice will lead to a legitimate case for an equivalent value in compensation (i.e., a cancellation charge will be charged or credited).
Your instructor will do everything possible to ensure that your lessons complete and start on time, however he/she reserves the right to cancel, postpone or alter lesson lengths and start/finish times under particular scenarios (e.g., harmful weather conditions). In case of postponement charges paid beforehand will be held for future lessons.
Drive2Pass SOM reserves the right to cancel a lesson at brief notice if it is presumed that the student might be unfit due to the impacts of alcohol, medicines (prescribed or otherwise) or other condition that would render his/her driving to be dangerous or unlawful. In such scenarios the lesson fee will be payable.
7. Bookings and driving tests.
If he/she considers that the vehicle might cause a threat to public safety, your teacher reserves the right to refuse use of a driving school car for test.
Where a Drive2Pass vehicle is used for a test, the reservation period will based upon the trainer's normal diary schedule. Depending upon the time of the test this will require a minimum two hour reservation and maybe longer.
While your teacher will make every effort to make sure that the vehicle supplied for test will be totally road-worthy and adhere to all legal requirements at the start of the test, he/she can not be held responsible for any car failures that occur during the test and is not liable for consequential loss.
Your instructor can not be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DSA due to sickness, staff shortages, bad weather or various other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond the control of your instructor and therefore the lesson charge and 'use of vehicle' charge for the booked period will be charged. Your trainer will guide you through the process of claiming settlement from the DSA.
8. Your rights
These conditions do not influence any protection a pupil has under consumer legislation.
We reserve the right to change or alter any of our terms without notice, however will endeavour to notify students of any modifications as soon as possible.
